Exploring new tech to polish old habits.

I've spent the last seven years as a Sr. Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering. Before those roles, I worked for about four years as a player-coach, doing single-team management and IC work.
My development career started in a role as an electrical engineer. I enjoyed building the software to solve me EE problems so much I decided to learn Python, C/C++, Java, and Perl. I did a career transition and have loved it ever since.
My background in development focuses on backend and DevOps. My current focus for development is to familiarize myself with new tech - AI APIs, various cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), etc. I've worked remotely for the last eight years with companies based outside the Tampa area.
My goal is to find another director-level role with a local company. I intend to find a hybrid or in-office role that allows me the opportunity to work from an office location. While I'm confident in my ability to remain productive in a remote setting, I believe there are valuable benefits to an in-office setting that I've missed during the past several years.
