Description

I first started software development when I was quite young, on a program named Scratch, a program that made programming a lot easier for beginners as it was visual block coding.

I remember one of the first things I coded was a ping pong game, like pong, but with gravity. It blew me away that I could code up something like this, so I showed my friends. We would play the game and have tournaments on the school computers. The funny thing is that the school blocked all the actually good online game websites, but luckily, they didn’t block Scratch since it was “educational”. Also, I might have given myself a slight advantage in the code.

Since then, I haven’t looked back. I enjoy coding as imagination is really the limit in this space. Additionally, the community is strong. Participating in things like hackathons and career fairs have made it all the worthwhile.

I recently have gotten into mobile development, and am looking to create and publish my own application. I enjoy algorithmic concepts, and problems that require layers of solving. Like card house stacking, where each layer is required to be built structurally sound for the next to be laid ontop.

I recently had an internship Northrop Grumman, and found that working in a team to solve problems can have major impact, especially in software development. I have quirks in the corporate environment, some good, some in constant improvement. I communicate effectively, and take initiative to reach out first. Solving issues in a team seems to also have been my strong suit, I enjoy it. I found it is a valuable skill to have, like leadership.

Aside from software development, there is a whole world out there. So to answer what I am passionate about, I would say travel, volleyball, surfing, running, basketball, writing music, and the frequent trips to Universal Studios specifically for Harry Potter. The food there is magically exquisite.
